During my career I have acquired abundant knowledge about the clearance cell systems in our body, not the least since I have established part of this knowledge myself. 

The consulting service that I offer through KCLECPC1 will be useful to academics as well as commercial actors who need access to deep knowledge of how the scavenger cells recognise, internalize, and metabolize blood borne large molecules and nano sized material. The following examples emphasize how consulting service by KCLECPC1 may provide useful knowledge for development projects in pharma industry and/or in academic organizations.

Example 1:

Development of new generations of large molecule compounds (e.g. proteins and oligo/polynucleotides) and nanoformulations is accelerating due to the possibility they offer to treat diseases that could not previously be cured. One of the major challenges that needs to be overcome for the successful use of these novel types of pharmaceuticals is to control their clearance by the hepatic scavenger cells. Extensive knowledge about the liver scavenger cells, which can be provided by KCLECPC1, is imperative to understand and suggest remedies to control elimination of blood borne compounds by these cells

Example 2:

 Liver diseases are frequently associated with changes in the blood levels of certain proteins. To study the cause and mechanism of this it is common to look for changes in the rate of synthesis of same proteins. However, it may equally well be that a variation in the clearance activity may contribute to the variation in plasma levels of same proteins. A prerequisite to study these possibilities is deep knowledge of the activity of the hepatic scavenger cells, which can be guided by KCLECPC1. 

Example 3:

To secure that funding applications are based on a solid knowledge basis regarding the clearance of various large molecule and nano sized compounds, KCLECPC1 can provide useful advice.
