Professor of medical biology and consultant specialising in scavenger cells that clear large molecules and nano compounds from the blood circulation.
I have more than 40 years of experience from basic research, and 10 years of experience as CSO of the CRO D’Liver AS which I founded in 2011, offering to the pharma industry analyses of mechanism of clearance and metabolism of blood borne/injected large molecule and nano sized pharmaceuticals.
I retired from my position as a university professor in 2021, and established the consulting company KCLECPC1 AS, with myself as a self-employed business consultant. I have ample networks within academia and industry, both nationally and internationally.
KC = Kupffer cell
LEC (AKA LSEC) = Liver Sinusoidal Endothelial Cell
PC = Parenchymal Cell.
The liver cell populations of KCs and LSECs represent the most efficient scavenger cells of the body, whereas the PCs, which represent the majority of the liver mass, have the ability to clear some molecules from the circulation, yet cannot be characterized as professional scavenger cells compared with the super active scavenger activity of the KCs and LSECs.
This has been the fundament for my research since the 70’s, and that’s why I named my company exactly this.
